After completion of an undergraduate degree many students want to know what help is available to them in the form of graduate school grants. The truth is that grants for this level of education are limited and they are generally funded by way of a student loan. Though just because they are rare, it doesn’t mean they don’t exist at all.
This is one instance where people from a minority background are more likely to find financial assistance than someone of white origin. Men are even less likely than women to find any type of grant because the white American male is probably the least persecuted on the demographic scale. It’s reasonable to believe that they are less likely to need help. Here are some grant providers that can help if you qualify as a target recipient:

- National Black MBA Association
- Society of Hispanic MBAs
All this is great if you belong to any of the social race or gender group’s that they cater for but not everyone fits into the demographic. If you do or don’t belong to any of those groups then you can still apply to many private, industry specific programs. Many of these industry originating grants will require you to commit to some sort of length of time where you work in the industry. Others will just want to have your findings resulting from any studies you undertake. Examples of organizations that help graduate students are:

- National Health Service Corp
- Health Resources and Services Administration
- National Science Foundation
- National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship
- Science journal
- Equal Justice Works
Many of these organizations have helped produce some of today’s leaders in industry. This is definitely the path to go down if you are serious about specializing in a specific industry. There are many more around but these government agencies and charities are by far the most respected of graduate grant providers.
The application for funding can be through lots of different ways but nearly all will require some sort of recommendation or reference. The place you wish to study at will be able to provide you with this or you may be able to get some sort of recommendation from past tutors. When looking for graduate school grants, you will find that you have to be a lot more inventive keen to achieve your goals.
